Polish President, Lech Kaczynski, murdered?

polishcrash

On 10 April 2010 the Polish presidential plane, Polish Air Force 101 (a Russian-built Tupolev Tu-154M), crashed short of the actual runway at Smolensk's decommissioned military airport. It's believed 96 people were on-board. All passengers were reported to have perished on impact, including the Polish President Lech Kaczynski and a large part of his political team.

What I'd like to discuss here is my research into the contradictions surrounding the plane crash, the mass media coverage of the crash and a few open questions I think we should be asking ourselves. I hope my research helps others to also openly question what happened on 10 April 2010. In my opinion, what took place in Smolensk, Russia isn't just a Polish affair. The crash should be of interest to the entire industrialized world. If the politics of a Western society is being shaped by acts of violence, then we should acknowledge the fact and take action that the criminals are brought to justice. Our freedom depends on it.

Contents of Report

Part 1

1 . Possible facts on Pilot, Plane and Airport

The pilot . Cool-headed, knew Smolensk Airport well, spoke Russian fluently.

The plane . Built 20 years ago, most highly upgraded version of TU-154 series, overhauled December 2009, TU-154 has an average safety record in the industry.

The airport . Served as a military airport till 2009, no record of previous crashes

2 . Where's the Polish Air Force 101 cockpit?

What the Polish Air Force 101 Tupolev TU-154M looked like before it crashed, and after.

Part 2

3 . Witnesses : the crash, the bodies

Witnesses at and around the crash site differ regarding what they saw and heard. We go from no explosion to a loud thundering roar to an explosion so powerful fragements were scattered a mile away. There are also reports ranging from no bodies were seen at the crash site to blood and bodies were everywhere.

Part 3

4 . A special witness : the controversial video, by Andrei Mendierej (?), plus transcripts

I'll admit that when I first saw the video, I was skeptical. I couldn't see anything special. All those people walking around escaped me. But then as I looked a little harder, I definitely could see people moving from the left of the remnants of the wing / landing gear to the right in the direction of the tail section.

Part 4

5 . Questions I think we should be asking not only ourselves but everyone

There was only one claim in the media that there were bodies everywhere. It was during the interview by Russia Today TV of three local kids, who were possibly around 15 years old. It should be mentioned, however, Polish TV journalist Slawomir Wisniewski stated he saw no bodies. And in his video there were no bodies visible.

6 . Media sound bites that shape our understanding of the crash

Media sound bites summarize complete stories in one sentence. Sound bites can either be the headlines of a printed story or a broadcasted news flash. These sound bites explain what it is media producers believe the public should concentrate on and think about regarding daily events. For many of us, sound bites are all the news we'll ever receive regarding an event. These one-sentence information clips become the basis for the conversations most people will have on the topics of the day.

Part 5

7 . A personal reflection on the crash

Many people wouldn't have questioned that the plane could have crashed for human error or mechanical failure if it hadn't been for the continuing contradictions surrounding the crash.

Part 6

8 . Update . 4 June 2010

I speak neither Polish nor Russian. Consequently, my research has been hampered by my inability to delve into information presented in either of these two languages. However, I believe there are certain questions we could ask which go beyond language barriers.
